In 2007, after 25 years in agency management and client side marketing roles, Brian founded Source Martin — a strategic advisory to the marketing communications community.

Source Martin works with its clients to improve their communications by improving the manner in which they work with their agencies, the way their agencies work together, selecting new agencies, and advising on a range of issues, from agency compensation to media investment, from agency line-up to mergers and acquisitions.

Before launching Source Martin, Brian was at JWT where he was EVP, Director of Business Development NA. Brian’s career includes agency management roles at Deutsch, Kirschenbaum + Bond, and Bozell. He was also client side, serving as CMO and later as CEO of Qtopics, a digital polling service.

After having been involved in well over a hundred agency reviews, Martin recognized a gap in the agency search business — the need for a consultant that focuses on cultural compatibility between agencies and the client-side marketing team, and is fluent across all disciplines within the marketing services arena.

Source Martin has worked with a number of clients including Citibank, (Smith Barney), PMGI (a privately held media company), League of American Theater Owners and Producers (an association), L.L. Bean and Tribune Interactive. Brian Martin’s prior agency management experience includes working with brands as global and complex as HSBC and Samsung, as well as brands as innovative and contemporary as JetBlue and Target.

After 17 years of managing leading consumer brands, Marcelle joined Source Martin in 2008. As a Partner, Marcelle is focused on developing new clients for the firm, and working with clients to improve the working relationships between marketers and their agencies.

Prior to joining Source Martin, Marcelle had been at Landor, a strategic brand consulting and design firm. At Landor, Marcelle worked within the pharmaceutical practice on both the Wyeth and Bristol Myers Squibb businesses.

A thoroughly buttoned-up account person, Marcelle has nurtured many strong client relationships, having worked with P&G, GlaxoSmithKline, Dannon, United Way, and Johnson & Johnson. Marcelle’s agency experience includes Ogilvy, Hill Holliday, Cossette, and Grey. She also spent several years as Advertising Director of Club Med.

Marcelle graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in New York, is married, and enjoys spending time with her son Matthew.
